April 25 & 26 American Cancer Society Relay for Life Walk |
Sponsored by the Sharp County unit. Location: Peace Lutheran Church at the entrance to Cherokee Village. Time: 6 p.m. Friday 6 a.m. Saturday. This is a candlelight walk to raise funds for survivor services and research. Teams walk in relay. A special feature of this event is a silent walk in memory of those deceased. June 7 Spring River Car Club Show |
This event kicks off the "Hardy Gras" events held each weekend during June. A must for all car buffs and visitors to Hardy. Be sure to include a visit to the Vintage Motorcar Museum on this day. This event, sponsored by the Spring River Car Club, is held under the Spring River Bridge, with shuttle service to shops on historic Main Street Hardy. There will be an antique car auction immediately following the award ceremony. All car show entrants are eligible for cash drawings. | |
June 7 Main Street Hardy Anything Goes Flea Market |
Flea market locations at King & Ponder Law Offices, located next to Price Chopper on Main Street. Also part of this event is the Hardy Fire Station Annual Rummage Sale and the Sharp County Library Used Book Sale. Call Main Street Hardy for vendor spots ($25 for 10 x 10 spot). Cardboard Boat Race |
Youre the skipper of your own cardboard boat creation in this hilarious race! Be as imaginative as you want. All boats must be made of cardboard, duck tape, and glue. No motors. Antique dealers from across Arkansas and surrounding states will converge on the small resort village of Hardy on Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th for the 20th annual Old Hardy Town Antique Show & Sale. Dealers will be displaying their finest collectibles, rarities and fine antique items and furniture in the Old Hardy Gym meeting center. Known as an antiquing haven for the large number of antique and arts & crafts among the 75 quaint stores lining the Old Hardy Town Main Street, there will be special bargains and special treasures all over town as the local vendors bring out their finest items for the weekend show. October 18 & 19 Civil War Enactment |
Live the Battle of Martin Creek, complete with a settlers area and morning drills staged by over 250 participants of the 7th Arkansas and 37th Illinois battalions. See authentic artillery, weapons, uniforms, and other Civil War memorabilia. 7 full sized cannons will be firing 30-40 rounds in the 3 battles over the weekend. In addition, there will be hand weaving, and hands on vintage crafts as well as plenty of food vendors. A candlelight walking tour will be held both nights and a parade featuring local high school bands will welcome visitors.
